Argentine determined to knock Chelsea off road to Rome
Lionel Messi has 'complete confidence' Barcelona will defeat Chelsea and reach the UEFA Champions League final.
The two rivals are closely poised in their semi-final following a 0-0 first-leg draw at Camp Nou last week, although it has been suggested Chelsea enjoy a slight advantage having survived their away outing unscathed.
Messi, though, expects Barca to succeed at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as the onus will be on Chelsea - who shut up shop in Spain - to go forward.
"I'm not expecting a very open game, but with Chelsea risking more in attack that might make things a bit easier for us," Messi told Uefa's
official website.
Danger
"Given space, Barca are always more dangerous. I have complete confidence we can reach the final."
Pep Guardiola's side swept Real Madrid away 6-2 at the Bernabeu on Saturday as they closed on the Primera Liga title and offered a formidable notice of intent.
And Messi insists that, with El Clasico completed, Barca are determined to defeat Chelsea and book a final date against defending champions Manchester United in Rome on 27th May.
"We're focusing on achieving the outcome we want," he added. "The rest is just about continuity.
"In reality, Sunday was the first day we could put everything into preparing for the semi-final second leg. But that's it. Now our minds are completely on Chelsea."
