Sky Sports is launching a survey to find out the best player ever to wear a Bristol Rovers shirt - and we would like you to get involved. We are asking fans of each of the 92 English League teams and 12 Scottish Premier League sides to nominate their all-time favourite footballers. The Pirates' rich Football League history begins back in the 1920s. Jack Pitt is a legendary figure from these early days, having spent over 50 years with the club as a player, coach and then groundsman. Pitt played over 450 league games for Rovers, a feat matched by Ray Warren, George Petherbridge and Harry Bamford - arguably the pick of the post-war Pirates. In 1949, a young striker called Geoff Bradford played his first game for the club and would go on to become the most successful player in Rovers history, scoring 242 career goals and turning down a move to Bill Shankly's Liverpool along the way. Bobby Jones and Harold Jarman were also stalwarts throughout the 1960s at the Eastville Stadium, but they were eclipsed in terms of appearances by centre-back Stuart Taylor - born and bred in Bristol. No list of greatest Gasheads could fail to mention Ian Holloway, who had three separate spells as a player and went on to manage the club for five years. Club captain Andy Tilson was a crucial figure throughout the 1990s but perhaps your fondest memories in the last 20 years are of one of the club's prolific strikers like Marcus Stewart, Barry Hayles, Nathan Ellington and Jason Roberts. So who gets your vote? To make your selection, please complete the form below and tell us why you are putting your chosen nominee forward. Once we have received all your nominations, we will narrow down the selections for each side to the 10 leading candidates. You can then vote for your personal favourite. After all votes are cast, we will reveal the winners ahead of the 2009/10 season and crown Rovers' greatest-ever player!
