Mourinho wins first Serie A title without even playing
Inter Milan won the Serie A title after closest challengers AC Milan fell to a 2-1 defeat at Udinese.
Second-placed Milan failed to close the gap on Inter after going down to European-chasing Udinese to give Inter their fourth straight Scudetto and Jose Mourinho's first in charge.
Gaetano D'Agostino gave Udinese the lead on 31 minutes from the penalty spot after Paolo Maldini in his 900th appearance for Milan felled Antonio Floro Flores inside the box.
Things got worse for the visitors when Cristian Zapata doubled Udinese's lead three minutes after the break with a close-range volley.
Massimo Ambrosini pulled a goal back for AC Milan in the closing seconds, but it was too little too late for the Rossoneri as city rivals secured their 17th Serie A title.
Roma boost
Christian Panucci's injury-time goal earned Roma a 4-3 win over Catania at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma went in front on 13 minutes when Simone Perrotta found the net only for Giacomo Tedesco to draw Catania level two minutes later.
Mirko Vucinic restored Roma's lead on 17 minutes and Perrotta added a third just past the half hour mark with a deflected effort.
Giuseppe Mascara reduced the arrears two minutes into the second half and Japanese striker Takayuki Morimoto drew Catania level on 72 minutes.
It looked like Roma would throw away two crucial points until veteran defender Panucci popped up with the winner in the closing stages and cement Roma's bid for a European spot by finishing in sixth spot.
