Andres Iniesta says it is a dangerous tactic to presume Lionel Messi struggles against British sides.

Barca midfielder warns United of Argentine ahead of showpiece

Barcelona playmaker Andres Iniesta believes it would be dangerous tactic to presume that Lionel Messi struggles against British opposition. Messi is regarded as one of the world's finest talents and he has netted an astonishing 37 goals in all competitions this season. However, the Argentine has never hit the back of the net against a Premier League side and he was subdued in the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie with Chelsea. Iniesta, though, has warned Manchester United, Barca's opponents in Wednesday's final, that Messi is capable of performing against any side. He said in the Sunday Mirror: "I know some people think that Leo did not have two great games against Chelsea and that maybe he can't play against British clubs. "When I hear that, the only thing I can do is laugh. "If you even show him one per cent less than the respect he deserves you will be very sorry. "He for me is the best player in the world. If he carries on the way he is, maybe we will be looking at the best player ever. "The things he can do with a ball are sometimes not humanly possible. A lot of the players in this Barcelona squad have played with some of the best players in the world but some of the things he does in training just have everybody in shock."
