Laws feels fit-again defender deserves extension
Sheffield Wednesday defender Richard Hinds has agreed a new two-year contract at Hillsborough.
Hinds' deal was due to expire in the summer, but he has been rewarded by manager Brian Laws after battling back from a broken leg.
The 28-year-old was out for six months after suffering the injury in August, but returned ahead of schedule to reclaim his place in the Owls side.
Laws told the
Sheffield Star: "Richard has done really well - he deserves this opportunity.
"He has been one of our most consistent players; he got back way ahead of schedule and if anybody doubted he would come back he proved them wrong.
"We knew he was going to face a long absence and even I thought he might not be back in the team before the start of next season.
"But he surpassed everybody's expectations and worked so hard to get back, and he's shown that he can be an asset to us."
