ex-Vicenza boss replaces Del Neri at mid-table Atalanta

Angelo Gregucci has been named the new manager of Atalanta after former boss Gigi Del Neri departed at the end of the season. Despite finishing a respectable 11th place in Serie A last season Del Neri announced it would be his last season in charge back in April, citing that he needed to discover new challenges. Gregucci arrives from Vicenza and is said to have beaten off competition from Palermo chief Davide Ballardini for the Atalanta post. The 44-year-old has worked at numerous clubs despite managing for just a short period. Gregucci has worked alongside Roberto Mancini as his assistant at Fiorentina while managing Legnano, Venezia, Salernitana, Lecce and Vicenza. "I'm really happy and honoured with the proposal the club has made me," he told the club's official website. "I will try to work professionally and reach the satisfactions of Atalanta and their supporters."
