Atletico Madrid have tied manager Abel Resino to a new deal following a fine start to his reign.
The former goalkeeper was appointed as Javier Aguirre's replacement at the start of February after a poor run of results.
He suffered European disappointment as Atletico bowed out to Porto in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
However, Atletico enjoyed better success in the Primera Division and surged up the table in the closing weeks of the season.
They won their last six games and clinched fourth place with a 3-0 victory over Almeria on the final day of the campaign.
Atletico have now rewarded Resino with a one-year contract extension until the end of next term.
