Broich moves on while Ehret earns stay
Midfielder Thomas Broich has signed for newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit FC Nurnberg on a free transfer from FC Koln.
The 28-year-old signs on a free transfer after fellow Bundesliga club FC Koln decided not to renew his contract.
Broich will be reunited with Nurnberg boss Michael Oenning having previously worked together at Borussia Monchengladbach and he has highlighted the midfielder's experience as a key factor.
"I am happy Thomas decided in our favour," Oenning told the club's
official website.
"His experience will be an asset. He is ambitious and wants to prove his abilities, this will help us also."
Meanwhile, Koln midfielder Fabrice Ehret has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2011.
The 29-year-old joined the club from Swiss outfit FC Aarau in June 2006 and was nearing the end of his original three-year deal.
A fresh two-year deal has now been agreed and Ehret has revealed his delight at earning his stay.
"I am feeling at home at Cologne and want to add my share to the future success of the club," he said.
"I am happy I had been a regular for this outfit last season and would like to further impress the club with my abilities."
