Honduras and Mexico seal wins
The North and Central American World Cup qualifying section has reached its half-way stage with Honduras and Mexico grabbing crucial wins.
Top-two Costa Rica and USA grabbed wins earlier this week, but Honduras and Mexico stayed in touch in third and fourth respectively after claiming three points hauls on Wednesday evening.
Honduras remain in third - which is the final automatic qualifying place, three points adrift of second place USA after they claimed a 1-0 win over El Salvador.
The only goal of the game between the bitter rivals came on 14 minutes as Carlos Pavon pounced.
Mexico moved into fourth - which would secure a play-off match with one of the South American nations - after they beat
Trinidad & Tobago 2-1.
The Mexicans went ahead in the first-minute as Guillermo Franco put them ahead, but T&T - who are yet to claim a win in the final qualifying group - levelled on the stroke of half-time through Hayden Tinto.
But Oscar Rojas sealed a much needed win for Mexico in the second-half.
