Striker leaves Rams for Australian A-League side
Mile Sterjovski has left Derby County for Australian A-League side Perth Glory.
The 30-year-old has returned to his homeland after nearly a decade of playing in Europe in a bid to secure regular first team football ahead of next summer's World Cup finals.
The forward, who played 18 times for Derby last season, leaves with the blessing of Rams boss Nigel Clough.
The manager told the club's
official website: "It is an important year for Mile if he wishes to be involved in Australia's World Cup squad and for that reason alone he needs to be playing regular first team football.
Best interest
"It is not something I could guarantee here, so it is in the best interest of both parties for him to return to Australia.
"Mile is an excellent pro and I have no doubt he will be a big star in the A-League.
"He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Derby County."
