Victor Valdes is 'very far away' from agreeing a new contract with Barcelona, according to the goalkeeper's agent.
Spain international Valdes, 27, is keen to commit his future to the European champions, with his current deal due to expire next summer.
However, Valdes' representative, Gines Carvajal, has claimed an extension is not on the horizon.
"We did present an offer but we are very far away from reaching an agreement," Carvajal told Spanish reporters. "It's apparently very complicated.
"I do respect the club's interests, but Victor never asked for a pay rise. And now that he is in the process of extending his contract, asking for more is complicated."
He added: "We haven't received any offer, but we are not in a hurry to take any decision."
