Full-back sets sights on winning his place back
Cardiff City defender Tony Capaldi has vowed to banish last season's injury woes and win back his place in Dave Jones' side.
The left-back endured a torrid campaign last season, in which he only played five games for the Bluebirds as a knee injury disrupted his form.
Capaldi also lost his place in the side due to the impressive form of veteran Mark Kennedy, who excelled in his new left-back role despite his advancing years.
However, Northern Ireland international Capaldi is raring to get back into action and into the manager's plans again while recognising Kennedy's credentials.
"From a personal point of view it was a terrible season," Capaldi told
South Wales Echo.
"The worst I have experienced over my career. I can't fault Mark Kennedy, who is an experienced and quality player. He did a brilliant job.
"But I need to be playing. I am under contract through next season and keen to stay, but the main thing for me is to be playing first-team football on a regular basis."
