Marbach hopes to tie Milan target down on new deal

Wolfsburg executive Jurgen Marbach has failed to rule out the possibility of striker Edin Dzeko leaving the club. Dzeko is a target of AC Milan and the Bosnian has admitted to his interest in signing for the Serie A side. Wolfsburg, though, recently stated their intent to keep the prolific frontman at Volkswagen Arena. And, amid talk of a £25million offer from Milan, Marbach confirmed the club plan to hold talks with Dzeko over his future. He told Wolfsburger Nachrichten: "There is no new enquiry, but I have been told Milan have not yet given up. "We wouldn't close the door regarding talks, but if (Milan general manager) Galliani attempts to come over to Wolfsburg for talks, he has to signal his arrival way before. "We are in no hurry and we are facing everything very calmly. We are trying to speak in person with Edin Dzeko regarding a new contract. "He is 23 years of age and this is definitely a decision on his personal future. We want to talk to the player, not his agent."
