Midfielder wants to leave the Hawthorns

West Brom midfielder Filipe Teixeira says he was to leave the Hawthorns for pastures new. The Portuguese player has 12 months left on his three-year deal following a £600,000 move from Academica in the summer of 2007. But the 28-year-old wants to leave after enduring a frustrating second season with the Baggies. He was unable to force his way back into the starting line-up following a cruciate ligament injury and now hopes an 'interesting' proposition comes up. Teixeira said: "I have one more year left on my contract, but I don't want to stay. "I am hoping something comes up, something interesting. I would look upon a change positively, because I was not used much at Albion last year." The midfielder refused to rule out a return to Academica, although he will have to take a drop in wages to move.
