Keeper to miss Under-21 final through suspension
Uefa has turned down an appeal by Joe Hart against the yellow card which will rule the England goalkeeper out of the European Under-21 Championship final against Germany.
Hart collected his second booking of the tournament during the penalty shoot-out win over hosts Sweden in Friday's semi-final fixture.
The keeper, who is joining Birmingham City on a season-long loan from Manchester City, was cautioned for talking to Mickael Lustig as the Swede prepared to take his spot-kick.
Speaking after the game, Hart was unsure why he was shown a yellow card by referee Cuneyt Cakir and coach Stuart Pearce confirmed an appeal would be lodged.
However, the appeal has been rejected by Uefa, which means Hart will have to sit out Monday's final against Germany in Malmo.
Scott Loach and Joe Lewis are vying to replace Hart, with the duo having played a half each in the group fixture against Germany.
Pearce told a press conference on Sunday afternoon that he has already decided who will start in goal and will let his players know his decision on Monday morning.
