American goalkeeper Ian Joyce has agreed to sign a new one-year contract with Southend United.
Joyce joined the Shrimpers last summer after spells with Watford and Grays Athletic and made three appearances in the first team.
He was offered a 12-month extension in early May and Southend boss Steve Tilson has confirmed Joyce will be signing the deal.
"Joycey will be with us and will be signing up again," Tilson told the
Southend Echo.
"He improved last season and did well when he was called upon, so it's good news he's agreed to stay."
Meanwhile, Tilson has invited Guus de Vries for a trial, with the Dutch full-back expected to be involved in Southend's pre-season campaign.
