Midfielder Yan Klukowski has joined Carlisle for a second trial spell as he looks to earn a deal with the League One club.
The 21-year-old, who first trained with the Cumbrians around Christmas last year, will spend a week with Greg Abbott's side.
Abbott admitted he was impressed with the playmaker's initial efforts as he considers bolstering his squad ahead of the new season.
"He's had an excellent first day and fitted in well," manager Greg Abbott told the club's
official website.
"He is strong and he has worked really hard, so we'll continue to look at him and see how he gets on."
Klukowski added: "I've been over in America for four years playing college football, and I have been looking forward to getting this chance with Carlisle United.
"We had two tough sessions today, but that's exactly what I expected."
