Gray allows defender to move on

Northampton boss Stuart Gray has decided not to offer Liam Dolman a new contract. The 21-year-old defender was invited to report back for pre-season training last week but he has not done enough to impress Gray. The manager is looking to strengthen his squad during the transfer window and feels Dolman would be better off searching for a new club. He explained: "We have had a look at Liam and unfortunately we don't think he can work at the levels we require and so we have decided to move on and look at other targets. "It is a shame but obviously we wish Liam all the best for the future and we hope he can get himself fixed up elsewhere." Dolman made his debut for the Cobblers in 2005 and went on to make 54 appearances.
