Sky Sports' survey to find the best player ever to wear a Northampton Town shirt is reaching a conclusion - and we would like you to get involved. We asked fans of each of the 92 English League teams and Scottish Premier League sides to nominate their all-time favourite footballers. Jack English holds the club record for most league goals after scoring 135 times during a 13-year career with the Cobblers after World War II. Another couple of players with proud records in the club's past are Joe Kiernan, who is fifth on the all-time list of appearances, and Frank Large, who scored 96 goals in 250 games during three spells with the club. Jim Hall enjoyed two stints at Sixfields and was named the club's Player of the Year in 1976. Or who can forget Phil Neal? The full-back made almost 200 appearances for Northampton before enjoying huge success at Liverpool after leaving in 1974. Captain of the 1986/87 championship winning season, Trevor Morley was a real crowd favourite at Sixfields. He eventually went on to play for West Ham, but was he the Cobblers' best-ever player? Richard Hill scored 33 goals in Division Four that season before being sold to Watford for a club record fee. Ian Sampson is now on the coaching staff and he made 449 appearances in over a decade on the playing books. John Frain made over 250 appearances for the Cobblers, while goalkeeper Mark Bunn came through the ranks before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 2008. To make your selection please complete the attached poll and we will collate the results. Once all votes are cast we will reveal the winners in the early weeks of the 2009/10 season and crown Northampton Town's greatest-ever player!
