Striker targets top-half finish in the Premier League
Stoke City striker James Beattie is targeting a top-half finish in the forthcoming Premier League season.
Beattie signed for the Potters from Sheffield United in the winter transfer window and helped the club preserve their top-flight status.
The attacker's seven league goals fired Tony Pulis' men to a 12th-placed finish in England's highest tier.
Beattie is eagerly anticipating the new campaign and is hopeful the team will build on last term's success.
He told
The Sentinel: "Every year you have to strive to get better. I know the manager pretty well now and he won't let anything slip.
"He will want to finish higher and go for the top half of the table.
"The chairman is also talking about signing a few players, which will only help our cause.
"But a lot of things have to happen between now and the end of the season. We have to improve our away form, and maintain our home form."
