Spanish side reportedly set to sign striker

Malaga have opened negotiations over a loan deal for Amr Zaki, according to reports in Spain. The Egyptian striker spent last season with Wigan but failed to earn a permanent contract after losing his form and angering then manager Steve Bruce with his attitude. Zaki repeatedly returned late from international duty and chairman Dave Whelan confirmed earlier this week there was no chance of him coming back to the club, even though Bruce has now departed. There has also been speculation linking Zaki with other Premier League sides but it now appears Malaga could be set to sign him. It is understood they are in talks with the 26-year-old's parent club Zamalek over a loan swoop. Reports also suggest Malaga are close to finalising a move for Tottenham playmaker Adel Taarabt.
