Platt could go for the right price

Skysports.com understands Colchester United striker Clive Platt is attracting interest from other clubs. Platt has scored 18 goals in 90 appearances since joining the Us in a £300,000 deal from MK Dons two years ago. He signed a new contract last summer, but has been linked with a move to Colchester's League One rivals Norwich City. Colchester are understood to be willing to sell the 31-year-old for the right price, with several clubs keeping tabs on the situation. Meanwhile, Us boss Paul Lambert confirmed he is still trying to improve his attacking options after missing out on potential targets. "I need two strikers. We've already been in for seven, and we haven't got any of them!" said Lambert in the Green'Un. "It's not easy. It might be that we try and get one younger striker, who is hungry to do well, and an older more experienced one. But I'm not just going to bring in a couple just for the sake of it. "So far, we have had four players come in and three go out. But the squad is still too big, because we can't do what we did in the Championship, because we don't have the same resources."
