Livermore signs new deal
Gilberto's 18-month spell with Tottenham has come to an end after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
The Brazilian left-back moved to White Hart Lane from Hertha Berlin in January 2008 but he struggled to make much of an impression.
He fell even further down the pecking order following Harry Redknapp's appointment as manager last season and has now been allowed to leave.
Gilberto has been linked with a switch back to his homeland in recent weeks, with Fluminense and Cruzeiro both reportedly interested.
The 33-year-old's Spurs career may be over but young midfielder Jake Livermore has signed a new deal with the club.
Livermore has come through the ranks with Tottenham and gained further experience on loan at Crewe and Milton Keynes Dons in 2008.
He has been heavily involved in the pre-season programme so far and will be keen to make a major breakthrough after committing his future to the club until 2011.
