Mainwaring likely to be out for months
Stockport County teenager Matty Mainwaring faces a lengthy lay-off after fracturing his tibia and fibula in the friendly win over Grimsby Town.
Mainwaring was the club's Young Player of the Year last season after making 22 appearances during his debut campaign.
However, he will have to wait to build on that promise after Hatters boss Gary Ablett confirmed the extent of the 19-year-old's injury.
Ablett told the club's
official website: "Matty's fractured his tibia and fibula unfortunately.
"We've spoken in the changing room about the way he'll need the boys more than ever in terms of motivating him and picking him up.
"We'll all help, we'll all motivate, we'll all give him the encouragement that he needs to get him back to full fitness and back in the side."
