Midfielder keen to return to Ecuador

PSV Eindhoven are in talks over a deal which will see Ecuador midfielder Edison Mendez return to LDU Quito. Mendez initially joined PSV from LDU in 2006 and has 12 months remaining on his current contract with the Dutch giants. However, he is keen to return to Ecuador for personal reasons and PSV have confirmed they are willing to accept the 30-year-old's request following an offer from LDU. "They made us an offer and this week we talk further," coach Fred Rutten said in De Telegraaf. PSV director Jan Reker added: "And because he will be a free agent after next season and because of the fact Edison has always been a true professional with us, we are prepared to co-operate." There is also reportedly interest in the midfielder from Qatar, but PSV are less willing to consider that move.
