Parkinson in no rush to offload Gillingham target

Charlton Athletic boss Phil Parkinson says he is happy to keep Chris Dickson after Gillingham made a bid for the striker. Dickson enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Priestfield two seasons ago and has been the subject of an offer from the Gills. Mark Stimson is waiting on Charlton's response after the Gills boss admitted he would be unable to increase his bid for the Ghana international. However, Parkinson admits Gillingham's offer is below his valuation of Dickson and he is not actively seeking to offload the 24-year-old. "Chris has come back in pre-season and he's been fighting for his place," Parkinson told the South London Press. "He's been working hard and we don't want any of our players to leave. "Gillingham have made several enquiries about Chris but, even if we were thinking about selling, they are a long way off our valuation of him."
