Midfielder acknowledges tough decision to leave Cardiff

Preston North End have finalised the signing of Paul Parry for an undisclosed fee from Championship rivals Cardiff City. Parry has signed a three-year contract to join Preston after successfully passing a medical earlier on Monday. Cardiff had accepted an offer for the versatile midfielder late last month and Parry was initially in two minds about moving to Deepdale. The Welshman, who is currently retired from international football, acknowledged it was a difficult decision, but is now determined to impress for the Lilywhites. "I'm delighted to sign for Preston North End," the 28-year-old told the club's official website. "It's been going on for about a week now and it was a tough decision for certain reasons, but I am very glad to be here and I'm ready for this new challenge. "I like having the ball at my feet, running at defenders, taking people on and crossing the ball - that's my game! "Hopefully I will be able to fit in with the rest of the Preston North End squad for what should be an exciting challenge."
