Super 6 is back

Super 6 returns this week and a selection of skysports.com journalists make their predictions.

Soccer Saturday Super 6 is back for the new season with some great prizes, and it is still free to play! Last year we gave away over £250,000 to Super 6 players so make sure you enter your predictions every week for your chance to win! The first round of Super 6 begins at 3pm Saturday 8th August 2009 with six Championship fixtures. Make sure you get your selections in by kick-off time. And why not pit your wits against our skysports.com journalists' predictions below to see if you can do better than the so-called experts. Predicting six correct scores will land you a cool £100,000. Stephen Brown will testify to the cash on offer, having won £20,000 last season. Stephen only got 42 correct scores throughout the season, but benefited from persistence.

Reading 3-1 Forest: Brendan Rodgers will be keen to see his team make a positive start in the quest for promotion. Sheff Wed 2-0 Barnsley: The Owls should hold the edge in this local derby. Derby 2-2 Peterboro: Two teams who like to play football and it could see a few goals on the opening day. Palace 1-0 Plymouth : Excitement may be in short supply, but Palace can battle to an opening day win. Leicester 1-1 Swansea: Leicester are stepping back into the Championship and it should be a close game. Cardiff 3-0 Scunthorpe: Cardiff should be too strong for a Scunthorpe side coming back into the second tier.

Cardiff 2-1 Scunthorpe: I fancy the home faithful to roar the Bluebirds to victory in their first league game at their new Cardiff City Stadium. Sheff Wed 1-0 Barnsley: The Owls look set to see off their Yorkshire rivals. Palace 2-0 Plymouth: Argyle battled against relegation last term and I am expecting another struggle. Neil Warnock's men to prevail. Leicester 2-1 Swansea: Leicester to mark their return to the Championship with a triumph. Derby 1-0 Peterboro: Two exciting young managers lock horns with Nigel Clough to overcome his counterpart Darren Ferguson. Reading 3-1 Forest: Brendan Rodgers to begin the promotion charge in style despite strong resistance from Forest.
Graeme Bailey
Reading 1-2 Forest: Big spending Forest to cause an early shock at Reading. Sheff Wed 3-0 Barnsley: Comfortable South Yorkshire derby win for The Owls. Derby 1-0 Peterboro: Derby should open with a win, but it won't be easy against a well organised Posh. Palace 2-2 Plymouth: Palace are not in great shape and Plymouth could easily get something here. Leicester 2-1 Swansea: Two teams with play-off aspirations but Leicester should come out on top. Cardiff 2-0 Scunthorpe: Good start for Cardiff at their new home and they should collect maximum points.
Peter Fraser
Palace 1-0 Plymouth: Neil Warnock to just get the better of ex-club, who struggled in 08/09. Leicester 2-0 Swansea: Foxes to hit the ground running after summer upheaval for Swans. Reading 0-1 Forest: An upset after shrewd summer signings for Forest. Sheff Wed 1-1 Barnsley: Honours even in a South Yorkshire derby. Cardiff 3-0 Scunthorpe: The Bluebirds will again go close to promotion this season. Derby 2-1 Peterboro: Nigel Clough to begin to make a real impact at Pride Park.
