Scot puts pen to paper on four-year contract

Leeds United winger Robert Snodgrass has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Elland Road until 2013. The 21-year-old Scot had two years of his previous deal remaining but has attracted interest from a number of clubs during the transfer window. Snodgrass signed for the Whites from Livingston before the start of last season and scored nine goals in 25 league starts during the League One campaign. "I am delighted to get it done," he told the club's official website. "I had no worries because I had two years left and was happy here, but it's great to sign a new contract. "It's been great since I came down here last summer and I really love the club. From the fans to the backroom staff and the other players, it's a great place to be and hopefully I can repay the faith shown in me." Leeds kick-off their third season in League One against Exeter on Saturday, and Snodgrass is hoping it will be their last. "We've had enough of being in this division and we're all pulling together and heading in the right direction," he added. "The main aim this season is promotion. It's not just for us as a team, but for the fans as well. "The fans are magnificent, they deserve promotion, and that is what we want to achieve."
