Poulsen has Juve future

Midfielder no longer on the market

Juventus boss Ciro Ferrara insists Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen is no longer for sale. It had looked for long periods this summer as though the midfielder was destined to be on his way out of the Turin giants during the transfer window. A number of clubs from across Europe were reported to have expressed an interest, with England widely tipped to be his next destination. Juventus' acquisition of Felipe Melo and Diego appeared to have made it impossible for him to continue at Stadio Olimpico and a move elsewhere seemed logical.

Surprise

However, the Bianconceri have surprisingly agreed to sell Cristiano Zanetti to Serie A rivals Fiorentina, trimming their midfield options. Ferrara is therefore keen to keep Poulsen on board and will not be looking to offload the former Sevilla man in the coming weeks. "Zanetti had this chance to leave for Fiorentina and extend the length of his contract, and he did," he said to RealSports.it. "I don't want to force anyone to stay. In any case we are covered in that role, because at this point Poulsen will no longer leave. "Christian has always trained with seriousness and effort and I also complimented him for the professionalism he showed during the summer training camp."
