Blues boss to talk to former Scotland captain
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish will speak to Barry Ferguson after he launched a scathing attack on the Scottish FA.
The 31-year-old Blues midfielder branded the SFA a 'joke', following the handling of the infamous 'Boozegate' affair which ended his international career.
Ferguson and then Rangers team-mate Allan McGregor embarked on a lengthy all-night drinking session at Scotland's team hotel in the spring, before flicking V-signs towards photographers whilst on the bench at Hampden Park for the World Cup qualifier against Iceland.
And Ferguson's current boss, and former Scotland manager, has revealed he will speak to the midfielder about the outburst.
"I would rather it's swept under the carpet now, and I'd rather they just let sleeping dogs lie," said McLeish.
"Perhaps that will be his last comment about it, we'll certainly have a chat about it over a cup of tea.
"Barry's an individual and he's got freedom to a certain degree but he obviously feels aggrieved over the situation and maybe feels that he's been a scapegoat."
