Blades boss wants speedy resolution to drug case
Sheffield United are hoping to learn the fate of suspended goalkeeper Paddy Kenny at a FA disciplinary hearing next week.
Kenny was suspended by the Blades earlier this summer when a drugs test revealed traces of ephedrine in his system following the club's Championship play-off semi final win over Preston.
The former Republic of Ireland international has protested his innocence on the matter, insisting he only took an over-the-counter cold remedy.
Blades boss Kevin Blackwell has since loaned Blackburn's Mark Bunn to cover for first choice Kenny until the outcome is determined and has high hopes all will be resolved next week.
"The commission are due to hear Paddy's case on Tuesday, but having not been involved with anything like this before I don't know what the procedures will be on the day," he said.
"It would be helpful to us if it was all sorted on the day so we know where we stand, so I hope it's not one of those occasions when those involved go away afterwards and don't deliver a decision until a later date."
