Hamilton have completed the signing of Marco Paixao just two weeks after bringing in his twin brother.
Accies thought they had snapped up both players but encountered problems in finalising a deal with Marco.
His former club CyD Leonesa refused to release him from his contract but Hamilton have now managed to negotiate his clearance.
The Portuguese striker is now free to link up with brother Flavio, who made his competitive debut in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Kilmarnock.
Manager Billy Reid said: "We had a chuckle last week when we didn't get clearance for Marco.
"We could have actually played Flavio first 45 minutes and taken him off and played Marco.
"I can assure you, nobody would've noticed the difference."
