Barcelona are reportedly set to bid 25 million euros for Shakhtar Donetsk defender Dmitro Chygrynskiy.
The Catalans coach Pep Guardiola is keen to sign the central defender as he bids to reinforce his squad before the transfer deadline on 31st August.
While Shakhtar are currently unwilling to sell, Catalan sports daily
Mundo Deportivo claimed on Wednesday that Barcelona have "pulled out all the stops" in a bid to sign 22-year-old Ukrainian.
Guardiola told Catalan television channel
TV3 earlier this week: "He knows how to play football, and we need to sign him."
Barcelona face Shakhtar in the final of the European Super Cup on Friday, which is being shown live on
Sky Sports 1 and
