Stoke close on double deal
Skysports.com understands that Stoke City have agreed terms with Middlesbrough for Tuncay Sanli.
Having already struck a deal with Boro for Robert Huth - which
skysports.com exclusively
revealed on Thursday, Stoke have followed that up by agreeing a fee for the Turkish forward.
Huth arrived in Stoke earlier on Thursday for his medical, and he has been followed to the Potteries by Tuncay.
"The two clubs have agreed a fee and Robert is having talks
with Stoke at the moment," confirmed Boro boss Gareth Southgate.
"Again, we have agreed a fee with Stoke City and the player (Tuncay) is in
talks with them."
Both players are now discussing terms and having medicals, but Stoke know that Tuncay could take more persuading to move than Huth to switch to the Britannia Stadium.
Tony Pulis, though, is confident of getting both players signed, as Stoke look to add three or four players to their squad before next Tuesday's deadline.
Big deal
New Stoke assistant Peter Reid feels the signing of Huth could be a great deal.
"Robert Huth has tremendous attributes and would be a quality acquisition. I've followed his progress since he came over from Germany to Chelsea and he's a very good player," said Reid.
"He's a big, powerful boy who is good in the air, and he has great feet as
well. He's had a few injuries, but he appears to be putting them behind him."
