Agent plays down Grosso switch

Fabio Grosso's agent has played down speculation that the player could join Juventus.

Agent says a 'miracle' is needed for Grosso to move

Fabio Grosso's agent has played down speculation that the World Cup winner could switch from Lyon to Juventus before the transfer window closes. The 31-year-old is likely to be staying put as Juve have not matched the French club's valuation of the left-back. It is thought Juve have bid €2million for Grosso but Lyon want around double that figure. While the player would like to move back to Italy, Grosso's agent, Giuseppe Bozzo, accepts it will take a 'miracle' to secure the switch. Bozzo said: "Juve have made an offer which Lyon considered to be low. "Grosso has stated his intention to return to Italy but it depends on Lyon.

Not optimistic

"I am not optimistic because you are not talking about an ordinary player. We are talking about a world champion that Lyon would only transfer if an important offer arrived. "I believe Juve have made a reasonable offer. There is still time but a miracle is needed seeing as the transfer market ends today." Grosso joined Lyon from Inter Milan in the summer of 2007 and is under contract with the French side for a further two seasons.
