The gifted playmaker has been out of action for three months with a thigh muscle injury.
He has not featured for Barca since their UEFA Champions League final success over Manchester United at the end of May.
The 25-year-old was also forced to pull out of Spain's Confederations Cup campaign this summer.
He is, however, closing in on full fitness and is expected to be back in the fold at Barca in the near future.
