Troubled relationship is on the up
Franck Ribery says his troubled relationship with Bayern coach Louis van Gaal is on the up.
Ribery, 26, failed to hit it off with the Bayern boss after a troubled first season which saw him label the Dutchman "too serious."
Criticising Van Gaal's tactics, the French midfielder said he was "a very hard, demanding coach, very strict about discipline."
However, in a dramatic change of heart, Ribery insists the pair's relationship has vastly improved.
On the up
He told
Sport Bild: "He is speaking to me a lot and getting to know me better.
"The coach has his philosophy that we respect. We train well and hard. We will then be ready to measure ourselves against the great teams."
He added: "He is very serious, rarely laughs and he is a man of principles.
"There already has been tension between us. For the moment, there is no feeling between us."
