Returning hero Lee Trundle insists he has no regrets about leaving Swansea for Bristol City two years ago.
The 32-year-old made just 29 starts for the Robins after switching to Ashton Gate for £1million in 2007.
He is now back with the Swans, initially on loan until January, and hopes to secure a longer stay at the club where he made his name.
But he told
skysports.com that he has no regrets about joining the Robins, believing it was simply a gamble which did not pay off.
Decisions
Trundle said: "I think that sometimes decisions are made in football and you can't look back at them with regrets because hindsight is a wonderful thing.
"Obviously it was a disappointing spell at Bristol City because of the amount of games I played there, but that was the chance I took and it never paid off.
"I am now back on loan at Swansea from now till January and I will be doing everything I can to stay fit and earn a place in the side so that I can earn myself an extended contract here."
The Swans endured a difficult summer, losing first manager Roberto Martinez and then star striker Jason Scotland and influential midfielder Jordi Gomez to Wigan.
Promotion challenge
But Trundle believes the Swans, now under the stewardship of Paulo Sousa, can still mount a serious promotion challenge in the Championship this term.
He added: "I think that after the sort of summer the club has had, losing their manager and both their leading scorer and an influential midfield player it is always going to take time to rebuild for any club, but the gaffer has brought a few new players in and we can now settle down.
"Everything at this club points towards promotion, with a quality manager and a great group of players, so it may take time, but I am confident that this club is moving in the right direction."
