Experienced midfielder joins League Two high-fliers until new year
Dagenham & Redbridge have bolstered their midfield options by signing experienced Danny Spiller on a deal until the new year.
The former Millwall and Gillingham midfielder earned a deal with the League Two high-fliers after training with the club for the last week.
The free transfer signing played for non-league Welling United at the weekend, but they will not stand in his way of a return to the Football League.
The 28-year-old goes straight into the squad to face Chesterfield on Saturday and manager John Still is delighted with his new acquisition.
He said: "Danny has proved an outstanding player in training with us.
"He was mis-diagnosed on an injury which has caused him to be out of the game for a while but that's one injury and he's proved himself to be really fit since he's been here. He lacks matches but he's fit in all other aspects.
"He was wanted by West Ham a few years ago and he's at least a Championship player so we're really fortunate to sign him.
"I've taken him until January and we'll look at where we go then."
