Preston will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they welcome Swansea to Deepdale on Saturday. North End find themselves in the play-off places having drawn three and won two of their opening five games, conceding just four goals in the process. Meanwhile Swansea have won just one game and find themselves in 19th on five points. Paulo Sousa will be boosted by the fact that his side are currently unbeaten in three league games but face a stern test against Alan Irvine's hard-working Preston side.

Preston defender Youl Mawene is hoping to be available after he strained a hamstring during the 1-1 draw at Doncaster last month keeping him sidelined ever since. Irvine will also be able to call on new recruit Neill Collins for the first time following his arrival from Wolves on a loan deal which could become permanent in January. Left-back Callum Davidson is ruled out for several weeks with a torn hamstring, but would have missed the Swansea match anyway through suspension. His place is likely to go to Eddie Nolan, while Barry Nicholson remains a long-term absentee with a broken leg.

Ferrie Bodde could make his long-awaited return after being sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury since November last year The Dutchman came through 83 minutes of a reserve game this week and suffered no reaction. Fellow midfielder Joe Allen is also in contention after he recovered from a hamstring injury. New signing Cedric van der Gun is not expected to feature as the former Ajax striker is not yet match fit. Fellow striker Stephen Dobbie (rib) misses out once again, but Gorka Pintado returns following a one-match ban along with Besian Idrizaj (thigh) and Fede Bessone (groin). Skipper Garry Monk and defender Angel Rangel serve the second instalments of their two-match suspensions following their dismissals against Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup. Darren Pratley (shoulder) and Thomas Butler (hernia) also miss out.
