Hornets healthy; Tykes could hand debut to new keeper

Watford have the bonus of a fully-fit squad to choose from as they prepare to host struggling Barnsley. Manager Malky Mackay can name an unchanged line-up but the Hornets are looking for their first win in four and Nathan Ellington is pushing for his first start in a month. The Watford striker has shaken off a knee injury and could come in for youngster Marvin Sordell. Fellow forward Danny Graham passed a late check on a knee problem to face Swansea last time out and came through unscathed, scoring his third goal of the season in a 1-1 draw. Adrian Mariappa partnered skipper Jay DeMerit at centre-half against Swansea due to Mike Williamson's impending move to Portsmouth, with Lee Hodson making his league debut at right-back. The trio should remain in the starting XI as the Hornets search for their first home win of the season having so far drawn against Doncaster and Blackpool at Vicarage Road.

Hassell to return

Barnsley defender Bobby Hassell is expected to return for Mark Robins' first game in charge of the Tykes. Hassell has been sidelined with an Achilles injury from the 1-0 defeat at Leicester last month but has been back in first-team training this week. Striker Daniel Bogdanovic has been ruled out, however, with the Malta international having turned his ankle in training on Wednesday, which will keep him out for at least three weeks. Central defender Darren Moore is expected to start despite struggling in recent weeks with a foot problem which has required injections. Goalkeeper Luke Steele is three to four weeks away from a return to first-team action due to a broken finger, so summer signing David Preece should come in between the sticks for his debut. Robins has been lured from League Two Rotherham, with a start of one point from 15 under Simon Davey leaving Barnsley rooted to the foot of the Championship table.
