Quakers striker remains confident
Darlington striker Lee Thorpe has issued a rallying call ahead of the home clash with fellow strugglers Macclesfield Town this weekend.
The Quakers have yet to win a league game this season and have only managed to pick up two points from their opening ten matches.
But the former Rochdale veteran told
skysports.com that he is confident they can turn it around.
He said: "We didn't expect to be in this position after eight games of the season, but we have got to keep working hard and try to get ourselves back winning and putting points on the board.
"We have got to be confident that we can turn it around and I think that if we keep doing the right things then it won't be long before we start putting some wins together.
"I think that we have the players here to turn things around and it is just a case of working hard on the training ground and then trying to put things right during games."
The gap between the Quakers and the sides above them extended on Tuesday night, after Torquay drew with Aldershot, widening the deficit to five points, and the 33-year-old knows how important it is to start picking up wins before it is too late.
He added: "It is important to get some more points on the board as soon as we can because, although it is still early days, you don't want to get too far adrift from those that are above you.
"It would be a tall order to catch up then, but it is still early in the season."
