Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino has had his Champions League ban reduced to one match.

Striker available for Debrecen fixture

Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino has had his UEFA Champions League ban reduced to one match following a successful appeal. The Italy international was handed a two-game suspension following a red card in September's meeting with Lyon after a raised-elbow challenge on Jeremy Toulalan. But Fiorentina appealed to Uefa and the European governing body has reduced the punishment. Gilardino has now served his ban after sitting out last week's win over Liverpool and he is available to return. A statement from Fiorentina read: "Alberto Gilardino's European ban has been reduced to one game and the player will return to play at Debrecen on 20th October."
