Former Gunner undecided on Republic role
Republic of Ireland coach Liam Brady will discuss his future with Arsenal before committing to a new contract.
Brady has been asked to stay on by Republic boss Giovanni Trapattoni who, along with the other coaching staff, has agreed a new deal to stay with the team until 2012.
But Brady, who combines his international duties with his work as head of youth development and academy director at Arsenal, will speak to the Gunners after the World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Montenegro before committing himself.
"I need to talk to Arsenal and I am going to do it when all this is concluded," he said.
"It's only logical that the manager should have been re-confirmed, the results he has got.
"If you look at the opposite and you had left that decision unmade, people would say you were crazy, so the FAI have done the right thing."
Ireland still have a chance of qualifying for next year's World Cup in South Africa, but will have to beat the Azzurri on Saturday if they are going to avoid the play-offs.
