Midfielder hopes to be back in action by Christmas

Ipswich's David Norris has made a 'massive improvement' in his recovery from a knee injury and the midfielder hopes to be back in action by Christmas. The former Plymouth star was initially ruled out until February after sustaining ligament damage on the first day of the season. However, Norris has stepped up his rehabilitation and has set the festive period as a target for his return to manager Roy Keane's plans. He told the club's official website: "Things are going well. I saw the specialist this week and he was pleasantly surprised by how well the knee looked. "I have come out of a fixed brace and I'm doing some swimming and cycling work and there has been a massive improvement in the last two weeks. "I feel I am ahead of schedule and if there are no setbacks I'm sure it will much closer to four months than six (months)."
