Northampton confirm new assistant manager
Northampton Town have appointed Malcolm Crosby as their new assistant manager.
Ian Sampson was recently handed the manager's job at Sixfields until the end on the season.
He has now moved to bring Crosby in, whilst Jim Barron leaves the club as part of the re-jigging behind the scenes.
Crosby was free to join Northampton after leaving a similar role with Middlesbrough earlier in the summer.
"I am delighted that Malcolm has agreed to join us on a permanent basis," said Sampson.
"He has been here helping us out over the last few weeks and he has had a positive impact. The players respect him a lot and enjoy his work, and he has been a big support to me.
"He has a vast amount of experience and it will be ideal for me as a young manager to be able to tap in to that. I think Malcolm is a key signing for us."
