Wolves defender Ronald Zubar is eager for his Premier League debut when his side take on Everton.
Former Marseille man wants league debut
Wolves defender Ronald Zubar believes he is ready for his Premier League debut when his side take on Everton on Saturday.
The former Marseille centre-back signed at Molineux in the summer but has only made one fleeting appearance in the Carling Cup against Swindon, although he has impressed in a number of reserve matches.
The 24-year-old is hoping to be fit for the game at Goodison Park at the weekend after a difficult period finding his feet in England.
"I've been trying really hard in training to get sharp enough to play in the first team," he told the club's
official website.
"I've been working for a long time now for this opportunity. It's been very hard for me to see the team lose because I want to do something about it.
"But there's a lot of competition, and it's not my decision on who plays. But I'm ready and I'm sure there will be opportunities for me. If I'm picked for Everton, I'll be ready."
Adjustment
Zubar also said that he is now getting to grips with life in the Premier League, and hopes his versatility will please boss Mick McCarthy.
"For me, I'm ready now. I've spoken with the gaffer and he's happy with me. I play centre-back, but I can also play right-back or left-back or even midfield," he added.
"I know the Premier League is fast, but the Championship and even League One are the same - everything in English football is very quick.
"I've spoken to the gaffer and to (assistant manager) Terry Connor a lot and now I understand English more too, I understand what they want.
"I speak to them before and after training and I've got a good idea of what is expected of me to progress into the first team."
