French youngster pushing for start at Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp believes Damien Le Tallec will soon be pushing for a first-team place. The 19-year-old, who is the younger brother of former Liverpool forward Anthony Le Tallec, signed for the Bundesliga outfit in the summer following his release from Ligue 1 side Rennes. The Frenchman signed a three-year contract upon arrival but is already thought to be impressing coaching staff enough to be considered for the first team. Klopp, whose side currently sit a disappointing 12th in the table, admits that Le Tallec still has work to do if he wants to become a Dortmund regular. "We have to keep in mind Damien is not a fully-matured player just yet, but you are able to imagine what sort of qualities he has," he told Reviersport. "At the start of his contract here he did not look that fine. He was physically exhausted and there was a big gap towards the rest of the players. "Actually there is no gap anymore, he has shown a great spirit and he works hard in training. He has a very professional work attitude. "And we have got the time to wait and witness his development as it is pretty much usual that youngsters such as Damien have fluctuations in their performances. "We are very cool on his future as we feel he is able to be a very good player."
