Killie striker suffers broken hand
Kilmarnock have confirmed Allan Russell has suffered a broken hand just weeks after returning to action.
The 28-year-old appeared in a behind-closed-doors match in midweek in order to build up match fitness following a lengthy lay-off.
However, the striker, who appeared as a sub in Killie's recent SPL matches against Aberdeen and Hibs, complained of pain in his hand.
An X-ray has now revealed he has indeed broken his hand with manager Jim Jefferies confirming he will be unavailable for at least six weeks.
Fitness
"There was a close-door game during the week which, ironically, was to help Allan and others get fitness up," explained Jefferies.
"He was complaining about his hand and the physio phoned to say he's been for an X-ray and it was broken.
"The physio says it will be four to six weeks for the bone to heal and Allan is devastated having just come back from two serious injuries."
